Driving the design, development, and nationwide deployment of TELUS Health's PS Suite Electronic Medical Record platform across 96 community healthcare organizations.
Canada's healthcare system is a patchwork of provincial regulations, legacy systems, and disconnected clinical workflows. TELUS Health's PS Suite is one of the most widely used Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platforms in the country — relied upon by over 40,000 healthcare professionals to manage patient records, prescriptions, lab results, and clinical documentation.
The challenge: standardize and deploy PS Suite across 96 community healthcare organizations — each with different workflows, provincial compliance requirements, bilingual needs, and varying levels of technical readiness. The implementation needed to work for family physicians in rural Ontario and specialists in urban Quebec alike.
This was a 7,000+ hour implementation effort requiring deep clinical domain knowledge, meticulous requirements gathering, and the ability to bridge the gap between healthcare professionals who think in patient outcomes and technology teams who think in system configurations.
I led requirements elicitation directly with clinical and administrative stakeholders — physicians, clinic managers, IT directors, and provincial health authorities. I translated 40+ user stories into functional specifications, customized forms, and workflow documentation that development teams could execute on. The key skill here: speaking both clinical and technical fluently.
I managed the acquisition, configuration, and feature enhancement of PS Suite across all 96 community healthcare organizations. Each deployment required understanding the organization's unique clinical workflows, configuring the platform accordingly, and ensuring smooth adoption. No two deployments were identical.
Canada's healthcare system operates in two official languages, and each province has its own regulatory framework. I developed RFP requirements and coordinated bilingual platform capabilities and provincial integrations to meet regional compliance standards — from Ontario's health data requirements to Quebec's French-language mandates.
I ensured alignment with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) standards across healthcare workflows, supporting regulatory compliance and maintaining clinical documentation integrity throughout the implementation.
Beyond the clinical system itself, I streamlined supply chain workflows and procurement processes across partner organizations, achieving a 9% reduction in procurement lead times. Healthcare organizations depend on efficient supply chains for everything from medical supplies to IT equipment — and every day saved in procurement directly impacts patient care.
I conducted market research and competitive analysis to inform product positioning and feature prioritization for the PS Suite platform — helping TELUS Health understand where PS Suite stood against competitors and which features would drive the most clinical value.
I owned UAT planning and defect triage across 3 release cycles, resolving 95% of critical defects before launch. In healthcare, a defect isn't just a bug — it can affect patient safety, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. The bar for quality is absolute.
I strengthened cybersecurity and vendor governance frameworks, reducing data breach risk by 23% and non-compliance penalties by 7%. In healthcare, patient data is among the most sensitive information that exists — protecting it isn't optional.
I improved data quality and reporting accuracy by 32% through refined Power BI dashboards and integration logic. Better data means better clinical decisions, more accurate reporting to provincial health authorities, and stronger evidence for funding and resource allocation.
💡 Healthcare IT isn't just software deployment — it's patient outcomes. Every form I configured, every integration I built, every defect I caught before launch directly impacts the quality of care that 40,000+ healthcare professionals deliver to Canadians every day.
40,000+ healthcare professionals. 96 organizations. 7,000+ hours. A platform that Canadian doctors, nurses, and clinic staff rely on every single day to deliver patient care. I didn't just configure software — I helped build the digital backbone of Canadian community healthcare.
